Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume as sometimes commonly referred is a summary of educational background. Its main purpose is to showcase credentials for an academic position, scholarship, fellowship, or grants. Usually, it ranges from 1 to 4 pages.

When applying for an academic position, students are normally asked to submit CVs along with other documents. It’s important to present a clear, well-organized, and comprehensive application to prove that you are the best fit for a particular position, fellowship, or grant.

Your email address should sound professional. Avoid cute names, nicknames, numbers, and symbols. This should also apply to voice mail messages.

Provide a list of your educational qualifications in reverse chronological order starting with the most recent. This should also apply to any other certificates and awards you might have received. Provide the name of the school, the course, and the final grade. Note that only the most relevant qualifications and achievements should be included.

Write your CV on an A4 white paper using Times News Roman font 12. Do not attempt to beautify the paper as this is a professional and formal document.
