Differences

Cologne city in Germany is a unique area full of exceptional cultures and traditions that date back to the 12th Century. Although the town shares many aspects with Toulouse city in France, significant differences exist among them, particularly in their cultures and values. First, cologne is known for its rich love for art and nature (Hofstede n.p). This can be depicted by a large number of arts preserved in most of the museums in the city that not only attracts tourists but also gives historical insights into the famous urban center. However, in Toulouse, people’s love for art is only for leisure and does not have any significance to the history of the town (Orangesmile n.p).  Cologne  city holds high regard and respect for people’s faith; is is home to various religions. The religious culture in the city can be described by different faiths including Christians, Muslims, and Jews, among ohers. Moreover, the city promotes high tourist destination sites due to its vast museums and other historic architectural buildings of Romanesque styles such as Sankt Aposteln church (Hofstede n.p). Toulouse, on the other hand, composes a high percentage of Christians, especially Catholics, depicting a low level of religious diversity.

Similarities

French and German cultures share a lot in common. For instance, a deep religious culture is predominantI in either city. Additionally, historic sites in Cologne and Toulouse make important landmarks in both cities. Moreover, both cultures have a deep regard for nuclear families. The family set up accords the father more responsibility as the head of the house while the mother is tasked with taking care of the siblings (Orangesmile n.p). Equally, delicacies and cuisines in both French and German countries present pride between the two towns rich in unique cultures.
