Organizational Behavior

            Following the discussion forum on organizational behavior, I am able to identify the benefits of organizational theories better. One of the most crucial theories that I studied is the bureaucratic approach, which is mainly common in the public sector. Over the years, the public sector is among the areas where the issues of mismanagement of resources are common due to vices such as corruption.  Further, the public sector is faced with high inefficiency in provision of public services, which is an added cost to the taxpayers (Gormley & Balla, 2012). I realized that the bureaucratic theory can be used to maximize the efficiency of the public sector employees and solve other performance issues affecting the sector.

            Among the primary benefits of the bureaucratic method of administration is the consistence of workplace practices and procedures, thus making the decision-making easy and more efficient (Nicholson-Crotty  & Miller, 2012). The uniformity of the procedures involving issues such as employee development and compensation motivate the employees to work hard as they are content with the working procedures (Jones, 2010). The output of the work in organizations that effectively implement the bureaucratic method has high quality because the recruitment procedures laid out ensure that only the qualified personnel is hired (Greenwood & Miller, 2010). Consequently, the employees are able to meet the set objectives on time (Thornton, Ocasio & Lounsbury, 2012).  The organizational theory is not only applied in the public sector but can be applied in other companies (Loyens & Maesschalck, 2010). To increase the efficiency of the approach, institutions should ensure that the employees embrace the method effectively by aligning the organizational goals with employee skills.
