The test presents various criterions of identifying the personality of an individual. This is achieved through the dichotomies method, which presents a continuum existing between two extreme poles. There are four criteria that can be adopted in the identification of the personality of an individual. In regard to postulations by Cal Jung, the first criteria involve the source of direction of an individual’s expression of energy. An individual in this case can either be extravert or an introvert (Parkinson, 2010). An extravert will mainly focus on external matters in the environment while an introvert focuses on the internal environment. The second method involves sensing versus intuition. This deals with information perception. A sensing individual will directly believe the information solely as it is consumed from the outside environment. On the other hand, intuition will mean that an individual only believes on information received from his/her immediate environment. The third method that involves thinking and feeling involves how individuals process the received information. The use of logic and critical examination will be used in the case of thinking while the use of emotions in the case of feeling (Engler, 2008). Finally, the implementation of the information will be realized through judging and perceiving method. Consideration of various life events will be vital in the case of judgmental implementation.

However, consideration of alternative options will be used in perceiving. The four criteria are therefore used to develop 16 possible personalities that are represented by a four letter acronym. In each case, extreme poles in different methods can combine resulting in unique personality (Parkinson, 2010). More importantly, the personality acronyms must follow certain ordinals. The initial letter should either represent an extravert or an introvert, which is represented by letters E and I respectively. This should be followed by sensing or intuition that is represented by either S or N. Thirdly, the acronym for thinking and feeling should follow which are F and N correspondingly. Finally, the last letter of personality acronym should be either J or P representing judging and perception.

Personality representation of ETNJ can be extensively elucidated as:

E- Extravert.

T – Thinking

N – Intuition

J – Judging

A percentage combination of 44, 38, 25, and 33 manifests weak qualities in each of the traits. However, in the presented personality, the tendency of an individual to gain and direct his/her energy to the outside world still remains dominant in comparison to other abilities. In my learning process, the tendency to undertake extensive research and to obtain various individuals’ opinions has often shaped my learning process. An intuition of 38 percent reflects a weak conviction to information obtained from the internal environment. There are a number of reasons that results in this tendency. Apart from the environmental factor, there are factors, such as obtained knowledge that will influence me in my regard to consuming information obtained internally. Still in the learning example, information from internal sources have always played a critical role in my strive to achieve the desired objective. In a presented case involving employees’ conflicts, the use of individual opinion helped me greatly in adopting an amicable measure. In the same regard, the effective use of logic in reaching various decisions is also used minimally. A percentage of 25 displays that apart from involving logic in reasoning, fallacies and other aspects are put into practice hence compromising the process of logical reasoning. In my managerial roles in one of the institutions, logical analysis of every event, especially those regarding investment plans greatly assisted in curbing gross mistakes that could compromise the operations of the firm. However, in allowing for logical analysis, there was also a need to take into close consideration the tradition and other factors of the firm. This can be the result of the low percentages pronounced. In the implementation criterion, more life events should be regarded to improve on the strength of the actions adopted. Extensive analysis of life events should allow the acronym attain a percentage of 50 to reflect high deductive ability. An example of the firm environment will be prudent in this case. Before adopting a decision, there is a need to consider past activities of the firm, and the tendency in the industry as a whole (Engler, 2008). There is a close coherence between my personality and the one presented. This is majorly witnessed through my decision aspects. In general, the combinations manifest a weak personality. It can be improved trough constant review of the abilities besides setting life and professional goals that are in the same line with the traits.

In the light of the discussion, it becomes evident that individuals will manifest various personalities depending on the profession and the environment of operation. The personality can either be weak or strong. However, weak personalities can be improved by the frequency of actions inclined to the desired personality (Clark, 2007). Environmental factors can also be improved in line to the desired results. Carl Jung’s model of personality identification, therefore, remains valid as a method of identifying and testing individuals’ personalities.
