The aviation industry has undergone tremendous changes over the past decades resulting to new products, services, and innovations. There are, however, issues linked to the future state of aviation and aerospace. Michael Buehler (2016), states that the aviation industry experiences diverse internal and external issues. New technologies, recruits, collaborations and players coupled with insufficient knowledge when adopting and adapting to changes have attributed to the challenges. In the past, the industry has faced issues in redefining business models, products, and services for continuous innovation and improvement. According to Michael Abrams (2013), future issues are based on the current endless evolution of human flight or hardware. He states that airborne software systems are dependent after writing codes based on every aspect of the hardware. Thus, it is possible for the systems to be developed to increase communication and enhance efficient landings. However, the issue on the exact position of all planes should be addressed continuously and smoothly to save enormous lives and aircrafts. Thus, future issues are mainly linked to new technologies being developed to support the growth being experienced within the aviation industry.

The Global Airline Industry Program (2013), states that the aviation industry has greatly impacted the global economy. Technological innovations including introduction of jet airplanes and government policies have been taking precedence over competition and profitability. This has raised concerns in relation to issues such as cost efficiency, operating profitability and competitive behaviors dominantly facing the aviation industry. Domestic and commercial air travels should, therefore, continue to evolve while acknowledging the economic importance and dependence on good economic conditions (Tsoukalas, 2007). The industry, therefore, should continue to be deregulated to reduce involvement of economics in the aviation industry. Consequently, it will thwart negative impacts against the industry. For example, pressures to cut costs, reduce job losses, mergers and bankruptcies and increase profit volatility will ease (Bisignani, 2006). In conclusion, liberalization, competition, and deregulation will ease issues linked to technological growth, cost management, and productivity improvements.
