Challenges of unmanned Aircraft System.

The use of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) has commanded a lot of attention in both the private and public sectors. This has attracted the attention of the national aircraft system (NAS) to integrate UAS due to its high demand in service provision. Since the start of UAS, it has attracted adoption from different fields such as agricultural crop survey, conducting scientific research, aiding law enforcement and border security (Gupta, S. G.et al.,2013). The process of its integration has come with a lot of managerial, technological and regulatory hitches. The hitches are discussed as follows.

Managerial and Regulatory Challenge

Inappropriate management is eminent among the UAS. The UAS operators are required by the department of defense to obtain a certificate of authority (Gupta, S. G. et al.,2013). However, the management has no way to ensure that all the incidents are reported as required and whether they are receiving sufficient data from the operators. This eventually leads to organizational impediments to the UAS operation and oversight. On the other hand, the federal aviation authority has not provided a standard regulatory design required to certify the new unmanned aircrafts. As per its officials, the UAS project resulted in the certification of two aircrafts. This form hardened regulatory challenge to UAS.

Technological Challenge

The unmanned aircrafts fly without pilots, this means that they are controlled remotely from the ground. While in the air the aircrafts are supposed to detect and avoid other crafts. However, such operative technique is yet to be integrated efficiently so as to avoid any accidents through colliding with other aircrafts (Gupta, S. G. et al.,2013). The initiation of such technological advancement is relatively expensive in terms of human resource used in generating such airlines.
