 External Opportunities (O) Prospects to advance my academics. Various openings to attend academic talks and symposiums. There are also international opportunities to advance on related fields. I am technologically advanced. I have diverse opportunities to advance my career for other career opportunities. Geographically am in the right positioning. I reside within the outskirts of the town. This enables me to have a strong network of academic partners even as I advance my career.              External Threats (T) These include competition among better public speakers in my class. There are stiffer competitions due to stronger team members in my career. There is also shortage of lecturers. This makes it challenging when we need to consult. P resently, the economic climate is so high. Many employees are being laid off work in the professional linage. There is also slow career growth due to global economic challenge.
Internal Strengths (S) I am a graduate with strong technological skills in information technology and computer software. I am equipped with great leadership skills. I am self-disciplined, creative energetic and have strong work ethics. The class members find me to be very resourceful. This is because am good at making contacts. This makes me communicate well with my team members. I am also a member of the Computer scholars, a professional organization. I can ask significant questions. This helps me to find solutions for marketing challenges. In whatever I do, I find myself very committed to the achievement of the team’s goals. Hence, some of my team members refer to me as a result- oriented person. I also enjoy doing this as it makes me focus on the perfect outlook of everything I do.  “Maxi-Maxi” Strategy (SO) These incorporate treating others with respect. This is to increase my resourcefulness in my team. Attending of symposiums and academic talks to help me achieve better chances for trainings. My resourcefulness, which enables me get a better opportunity to consult our lecturers and find help from various sources. This will help in the development of my career.            “Maxi-Mini” Strategy (ST)
My resourcefulness gives me an upper hand against my competitors, as people are able to identify with me.  The networks of friends help me succeed in various academic challenges. My desire to be the best enables me work on public speaking. Total commitment in work strengthens me. This helps me compete among the best. My creativity enables me work out ways through which I can grow in my career.  
Internal Weaknesses (W) I am compelled to do things quickly. This makes me fail at times on the assignment given. The desire to have things done away with stresses me wherever I have a lot of work to do. I am nervous at times. This makes me fear public speaking.“Mini-Maxi” Strategy (WO)  I reduce the stress of being overworked by the studies by discussing the assignments with my team members; I revise any impending work with the team and use of the advanced technological development to improve the quality of work I submit.“Mini-Mini” Strategy (WT) Being proactive. This helps me finish the given work within the time limit. Working out my self-confidence to improve on public speaking, positive thinking to overcome negativity related to studies and taking time off the busy schedule to exercise and relax. This helps me pass my examinations.


  1. Studying in a culturally diverse team helped me to develop cultural competence. This has been developed by the awareness of the international worldview, knowledge on the cultural practices and attitudes.  Better communication skills have also developed. This has been through understanding, communicating and freely interacting with people from varying cultures. Through studying in diverse cultural beliefs, and schedules, I have come to understand the varying cultures. This achievement of communication skills has been through provision of accurate information at the correct time. Good communication skills have improved my effectiveness and performance in the team. I have managed to work on team building. I have understood that the Americans tend to be individualistic, as they prefer to do things individually (Ramalu, 3). Other cultures have been working together within the team. The cross-cultural teams developed significant benefits from possible advantages derived from varying cultures. Studying with different cultures has enabled me to balance between work and family life. Within the work place, I have managed to develop better social behaviour. This could not be handled without the varying personalities I have come to work with. There have also been challenges as the issue of time limitation is differently understood. This has been experienced when meeting deadlines and in scheduling of work. The issue of time has been felt when working with the varying calendars. There have been major variations when working with the calendar system. This is the case when dealing with the special religious holidays of different groups.

Through the acquired skills, I have learnt to involve team members in the formulation and execution of diversity initiatives. I can foster openness as an attitude within the organization. Through this, team members can freely communicate their ideas (Nadler, 23). I can apply the diversification of leadership position, which will enable visibility and incorporate benefits of diversification of an institution. I can also promote diversity training as a tool to shape the policy.

  • When learning with students from different cultures, different culture communication problem rose up. This is because we are diverse in our cultural background. These variations were detected when talking in social forums. For instance, students from the Middle East feel embarrassed when they openly decline to a request. Instead, they will ask, why, to imply that they are not comfortable with completing the given tasks. This is contrary to the Americans who will out rightly say no if they are not comfortable with anything (Ramalu, 32). This communication challenge stems down to the societal and cultural background.  Some of the students believe that when greeting, handshake is necessary. Others just share a word and that ends greetings (Ramalu, 10). Others believe that when communicating with an elderly person, one must stand up with hands at the back. This is a show of respect. Yet to some of my classmates age is not an issue as long as communication has fully been made. Still part of my class members believe that asking questions is a show of disrespect. The class members have learned to accept the diversification. This is because they accepted others backgrounds and appreciate when a sign of respect is accorded to them. Through cultural studies, I have come to learn and appreciate the different backgrounds. I have also learnt to respond to different situations.
    • Among the skills I have acquired includes the ability of cultural competence. I have also acquired the skills of improved adaptability, which facilitates a variety of solutions in the resource allocation, sourcing and provision of services. I have come to appreciate wider range of services. This has been through collection of cultural understanding, which has allowed the institution to satisfactorily provide services to students internationally. I have come to apply better execution tools. This has helped to inspire my team members to give the best of their abilities. I have also learnt to give the best strategy to produce higher profits, and greater return on investment. In addition to this, I am equipped with better communication skills, management of diversity and understanding of the international policies on cultural diversity.
