Are Antiheroes more like us?

Antiheroes have become common in the most of the movies today.  The important thing in this work is to find out how we relate to them. We are like antiheroes because we naturally tend to relate to persons who have the freedom to make certain choices without thinking of the consequences. In most cases, we act in ways that help us pursue our own agenda rather than the good of the society. Antiheroes do not pretend to be perfect in any way, they will act destructively irrespective of what others may think. They tend to have the freedom to make choices and act independently. We tend to identify with antiheroes in so many other ways (Daniels 2). For instance, people will easily identify with characters that portray both strengths and weaknesses.

Most antiheroes are destructive in their actions; however, this depends on various reasons. For instance, Superman becomes aggressive and destroys anything that comes his way in order to save Lex Luthor. Another example is Batman who does everything to ensure victory over Joker. In real life situations, Osama bin Laden planned and executed terrorism in many parts of the Western world in an attempt to liberate the Middle East from influences from the West. In addition, Adolf Hitler’s action led to the start of World War II in an attempt to take over the world. In most cases, people may relate to such characters because of the wish to live in a society without consequences. As much us some of these characters are seen as evil, there are reasons for their actions.

Are the stereotypes presented in superheroes positive or negative influences on children?

Superheroes films and literature are very popular with children. However, it is important to note that the use of the stereotypes in superheroes has led to positive influence on children. In these films or literature, supermen turn out to have great powers and strength in order to save the situation. Therefore, children who watch them desire to have that strength to appear and reappear to save lives. The influence is evident in most of the behaviors of children who believe and behave in accordance to such stereotypes (Daniels 3). Such children develop positive traits in an attempt to act and emulate the superheroes. They develop an imagination of possessing super powers that can help them avert disasters and save lives, though not in reality.

Batman and Superman are some of the positive superheroes who have influenced many children positively. Superman remains one of the powerful influential superheroes today due to the unimaginable ability to do anything in order to save the situation. His strength leaves children imagining possessing such influence and power. Superman has become a positive influence to the children because of his moral image in the films. He comes out as a superhero that does everything to ensure safety of the people in the planet as he averts disasters. Many children identify with such a character as they develop an imagination of heroism in times of crisis. In the long, children create an image within them that everything is possible to those who are willing.

Do superhero stories provide examples of prejudice and how to deal with it?

In superhero stories, prejudice plays a major role in setting up the events that follow each other within the plot. These stories do provide good examples of prejudice and directly show what happens in the normal global settings. Prejudice is normally caused by some sought of issues that may arise from a perception of injustice or discrimination. For instance, a certain race or group may want to appear superior to others, thus necessitating standoff that leads to conflict. Another group may also feel discriminated with the only option is to start fights against the systems in place. Such are the prejudices that may lead to the super heroism. In most cases, superheroes come into the scene in order to bring justice and punish those on the wrong. X-men is one of the superhero comic books that show prejudice (Wheeler 2). Professor X comes out in order to bring a peaceful resolution to the conflict, a comparison to Martin Luther King who opposed bloody conflicts. On the same note, Magneto also comes out as a hero whose way out of the situation is to use combat towards peace, an example of Malcom X (Wheeler 3).

Creating an effective team in a superhero book

My superhero team would be made up of members with the ability and resolve towards achieving a common goal. I would choose a team of four persons with each of us having a distinct role to play. In order to achieve our goals, we would share out responsibilities and compare notes on how to achieve our objectives. Before the task, it would be appropriate to sit down and brainstorm on the way forward, each member coming up with suggestion. It would be important to also develop the story by coming up with the plot and choosing characters appropriately.
